About

An easy-to-follow, way marked, circular route around the Alwen Reservoir of approximately 7.5 miles (11 km), the Alwen Trail follows forest tracks and paths along the water’s edge and up to the moorland of Mynydd Hiraethog. The scenery around the reservoir is wonderfully varied with a beautiful section along the water’s edge. Along the route six illustrated panels provide information on the wildlife, culture and folk tales associated with the area. The trail links to the nearby Brenig Trail. Start the trail from the Alwen Dam. Llyn Brenig Visitor Centre and its facilities are nearby.
