About

With 2 beaches, Llandudno is Wales’ largest resort. Based between the Great Orme and Little Orme with the choice of Llandudno North Shore beach and the sand dune West Shore Beach.

Llandudno has plenty of modern attractions as well as keeping its Victorian and Edwardian history.

North Shore beach or Llandudno beach is Llandudno’s principal beach. It is sheltered with a long Victorian pier and wide promenade and is set in the shadow of the Great Orme.

Things to do on and around Llandudno Beach:

There’s never a dull moment on Llandudno Beach!

All the best old-fashioned ways to enjoy our beautiful coast are here:

•  Punch and Judy shows - a firm family favourite for over 160 years
•  Donkey rides on the sand
•  Ice cream on the pier
•  Live music from the bandstand
•  Or an afternoon nap in our deckchairs.

There’s a play area, paddling pool and snacks at the Prom’s east end.

One of the best ways to see Llandudno is from a boat. Hop aboard Sea Jay for a water-based sightseeing trip to see the Little Orme and Great Orme, or a longer sea fishing trip where you can enjoy the breath-taking coastline in the hope of catching your own dinner.

Or you can hop aboard one of the speedboats and whizz by the Great and Little Ormes in a blur of spray and salt.

Llandudno Beach is just a few minutes’ walk to the town’s amenities including shops, cafés and toilets.

There is no lifeguard on the beach.

And remember, please don’t feed the seagulls!

Dogs on the beach

Bringing your dog to the beach can be a massive highlight for you and your pets. We encourage you to ensure your dog is under control at all times both on and off the lead, and to be aware of the restrictions in place at some of our beaches.

In general dogs are not allowed on the beaches (except for registered guide dogs and trained assistance dogs) between 1st May and 30th September, but some may prohibit dogs all year round while others have no restrictions at all to enjoying a seaside stroll with your pets.

We always ask that you pick up after your dog as it is an offence not to clean up immediately.

For more information about facilities available at each of our beaches see Conwy County Borough Council's website.
