If you fancy a leisurely stroll back to our medieval past, then Lady Mary's Walk in the Gwydyr Forest is just for you. This historic walk offers you some fantastic views over the old market town of Llanrwst and introduces you to some of the local characters who have left their mark here over the centuries.

After parking at the Pont Fawr Car Park by the landmark historic bridge in Llanrwst, you’ll be guided along the banks of the Conwy River before climbing up to Gwydyr Uchaf and the towering oak sculptures dedicated to our very own Robin Hood character - Dafydd ap Siencyn; the trail will then take you to the historic bowling green where you can find out how Sir John Wynn of Gwydyr entertained his important guests 400 years ago (this is a great place for a picnic and imagine you are dining with the medieval gentry) and back down to Gwydyr Uchaf where you can explore the remains of the pleasure gardens.

For a spine-tingling experience, add another dimension to your walk by downloading our audio trail – and be accompanied by Lady Mary, and the ghosts of her ancestors and Dafydd ap Siencyn and his bowmen as you walk, learning about the colourful history of Llanrwst and the famous Wynn's of Gwydyr along the way.
