Rural Conwy Sacred Trails

St Grwst's Church, Llanrwst

Sacred Doorways trails have been developed to offer you the opportunity to travel between the churches and chapels in the Conwy Valley. The trails are neatly packaged into four clusters for you to explore either by car or designated walking route.

From saints to sinners, princes to pilgrims, and bards to bandits, the Sacred Doorways trail will guide you through thousands of years of our fascinating history. The churches and chapels on the trail lie in the traditional small towns and villages across the Conwy Valley. Some of them are prominent in the landscape, but others are a little harder to find, perhaps nestling beside a meandering river, down a remote country lane, or even at the top of a mountain. Each church and chapel on the Sacred Doorways trail has a unique story to tell, and hidden treasures to find.

They are open for you to explore - all you need to bring is your imagination....
